Entrepreneurship in Culture Forum
This three-day event, free and open to all, aims to guide and bring practical and concrete solutions to current and future professionals in the world of culture, but also to promote French cultural entrepreneurship in its most innovative forms.
Through more than 70 workshops, this multifaceted event accompanies cultural actors while testifying to the richness and creativity of these professionals. More than 70 workshops to undertake in the dynamic sector of culture
This time of meetings and information is an opportunity to highlight an entrepreneurial world that will bring a creative economy that will serve as a model for the companies of tomorrow. Forward-looking initiatives that create jobs and attractiveness. Indeed, in 2015, year of the creation of the forum, a report by the Ministries of Economy and Culture established the economic weight of culture at 3.2% of French GDP, 80,000 companies and more than one million jobs. A promising sector that should therefore be promoted but also encouraged!
In order to promote professional meetings and bring together entrepreneurs, students and simple curious, the Entrepreneurship in Culture Forum proposes a program focused on exchange and accompaniment. Round tables, practical workshops and speed meetings, are animated by almost 200 speakers come to testify to their experience.
Les activities They can cover a wide range of subjects, such as the creation of a website or international development, as well as more targeted subjects such as cinema, fashion or arts and crafts, depending on the editions or locations of the forum.
The Entrepreneurship in Culture forum throughout France and internationally
Since its inception, the Entrepreneurship in Culture Forum took place in Paris in La Gaité Lyrique, to the National School of Fine Arts of Paris, at the Centre Pompidou, at the CNAM or at the TANK.
Nevertheless, Entrepreneurship in Culture is not just a Parisian event. Thanks to the work of the various Regional Cultural Affairs Directorates (DRAC), the forum France, in the form of events in which round tables, conferences and workshops are also organized on various topics related to cultural entrepreneurship, for example in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, in the Pays de la Loire or in Occitania. These events are in fact set up by the various Regional Cultural Affairs Directorates (DRAC) but also by many other national actors such as Pole Emploi or regional as L'Agence Culturelle Nouvelle Aquitaine' or The Metropolis of Greater Lyon.
DuringEntrepreneurship in culture 2019, two delegations, one in Dakar and the other in Montreal, were even exporting the forum internationally.
Throughout the year, under the impetus of these different actors, the forum is touring and comes in contact with entrepreneurs in the cultural sector and promotes meetings between students of the sector and professionals throughout France.
The IFCIC award: an incentive to innovate and invaluable support.
Created in 2016, during the second edition of the forum, the IFCIC Entrepreneurship in Culture Award reward “a promotion of companies or associations that have developed, in the cultural and creative sectors, an economic model or a remarkable, innovative, original, responsible and/or sustainable form of organization”.
The prize, worth €30,000, is funded by the Institute for the Financing of Cinema and Cultural Industries (IFCIC) and the Ministry of Culture and Communication. It is also the guarantee of personalized follow-up from the IFCIC and the expertise of the Ministry of Culture. A dedicated and relevant support that will allow the winners to bring their project to resolution.
Among the 2019 winners of the IFCIC Award, we count the Lyon structure Arty Farty for its cultural incubator project “Hotel 71, the Toulouse association The Electric Forest, the publishing house The Word and the Rest, the concert hall/restaurant/cultural venue Petit Bain and the start-up Pims : «Intelligent Scores for the Performing World».. A wide variety of fields have been awarded the prize, all of which share a new vision of cultural enterprise.
