Tribute by Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, to Henri Guérin

Henri Guérin has left us. He was a glass painter of extraordinary inventiveness, a master and an innovator, one of those who allowed the art of stained glass to know, in recent years, a true renaissance.

He had a passion for light, an intense and tireless desire to capture it, not to captivate it, but rather to release all its forces and beauties, and to make its colours radiate according to the time of day.

The work of Henri Guérin has spread in all spaces, in churches as well as in museums, in the public domain as in the private domain. At each realization, he showed himself faithful to that light that he said he loved forever and that he had been the great inspired poet.
