It is with deep sadness that I learn of the disappearance of Paul Onoratini.Patron figure of the International Piano Festival of La Roque d'Anthéron, which he had founded just thirty years ago and of which he was President, he had made this appointmenta unique place of musical excellence, deconviviality and authenticity, recognized as the world’s largest piano festival.

Everyone who had the chance to attend these outdoor concerts
were able to taste the charm of a place both inhabited and discreet, in the image of its
founder, who was also the mayor of this small village
worldwide.
Paul Onoratini shared his passion for the king instrument with his son
Bernard and offered, to generations of music lovers, the best of
its century and the beginning of this new century. Always on the lookout for young
talents, he knew how to give them their chance, alongside the sacred monsters, who
found in him a haven of peace conducive to the expression of their sensitivity,
in communion with the most diverse audiences.
To his family and loved ones, I wish to express my sincerest
His message of simplicity and artistic ambition
will inspire for a long time yet, among the agreements that will continue to resonate
at the Roque d'Anthéron, among trees and crickets
