Louisette Fargette died in Paris at the age of 84. The Cannes Film Festival owes much to the woman who ran its press department for more than thirty years, from 1969 to 1992. Louisette Fargette grew up with the Festival, born only three years before she linked her destiny to her own. At first a simple replacement in the secretariat, she had become the ambassador of charm of all festival-goers.
The fidelity and talent of this woman with the pronounced Slavic charm will have contributed to make the Cannes Film Festival the greatest celebration of cinema in the world; qualities that she continued to put at the service of the 7th art in her collaborations with the Spanish festival of San Sebastián or the manifestations of Dinard and Bénodet.
