Signing of a memorandum of understanding for the restoration of the Lamberthotel under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the City of Paris

This protocol, which took place today in the Ministry of
Culture and Communication, in the presence of Frédéric Mitterrand, met
end of the dispute between the current owner of the Hotel Lambert, his
Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani, to the Association for
development of historic Paris, chaired by Mr Pierre
Covers.
Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, and
Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris, had in fact entrusted Mr.
Jean Gautier for the Ministry and David Kessler for the City of
Paris a mediation mission to find an agreement between the two
parts in the interest of this major Parisian heritage building.
The Minister and the Mayor welcome this agreement following which
the association for the safeguarding and enhancement of the historic Paris
decided to withdraw her appeal to the Council of State.
Prince Hamad Al-Thani, a great friend of France, very attentive and very
sensitive to the enhancement and safeguarding of the heritage of our
country, will be able to start work quickly for restoration
and the layout of the Lambert Hotel.
