Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, met on 16 May in Cannes with Lulama Xingwana, Minister of Arts and Culture of the Republic of South Africa.
On this occasion, the two ministers signed, for the first time, a
film co-production agreement that will allow films
between France and the Republic of South Africa
support systems of both countries.
A new program of cooperation in the field of arts and
was also signed for the period 2010-2012. It will allow the
strengthening exchanges and expertise in the arts
visual arts, heritage, cultural industries and the
digitization.
These agreements reflect the will of the two ministers, who had
met last January, to take a new step in the
development of cultural relations between France and the Republic
