The History Committee collects, in addition to the written archives, the testimony of people who have acted in the fields for which the Ministry of Culture is responsible. It was inspired by the method of collecting oral archives that was theorized by Florence Descamps (normalienne, history associate, lecturer at the École pratique des hautes études, former secretary general of the Finance History Committee and vice-president of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture). This «living material» is one of the sources used by the historian of cultural policies in the study of the history of the present time.
The funds presented below complete the ten other corpus presented in this section and are enriched as the programs conducted by the Committee. They are accessible to researchers - only by appointment - with the express permission of authors and rights holders.
