Built by architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot at the request of Louis XV, the Sainte-Geneviève church is remarkable for its triple dome and monumental architecture. Completed in 1789, the revolutionaries decided to invest the building with a memorial vocation linked to the cult of the Great Men of the Nation. The building thus becomes a temple of the Republic.
