Living Travelers!
To invent trajectories to engage together, to walk towards possible and desirable futures, for living arts projects and travelers!
The Société du Grand Paris and the Métropole du Grand Paris accompanied by the Fonds de dotation du Grand Paris Express, and in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Île-de-France, theAssociation of Directors of Cultural Affairs of Île-de-France, THECultural Olympiad – Paris 2024, thePublic Planning Establishment (EPA) Paris-Saclay and thecoal association, launch the Call for Projects "Sharing your Greater Paris #3".
This call for projects is part of a common reflection around the city of tomorrow, new mobilities and the revelation of the places of Greater Paris. At the crossroads of relations between art, public space, construction sites, cities and territories and in order to promote its appropriation by the inhabitants and all local actors, This initiative aims to foster projects that take a sensitive and critical look at the sustainable transformation of the city.
The jury will award a heart-throb for the winner who fits as close as possible to the theme "Living Travelers" and best meeting the criteria of eco-responsible project management. Additional support (financial/support) will also be provided. |
On the occasion of the Cultural Olympiad of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this 2023 edition will also distinguish among the winners a project combining art and sport.
This call for projects is part of the artistic and cultural programming of the Grand Paris Express
Grand Paris Express is Europe’s largest development project 200 km of new metro lines and 68 future stations, connected with metro, RER, Transilien and bus networks, to be built by 2030 with the best contemporary architects.
Its innovative artistic and cultural programming pays particular attention to the inhabitants, users and territories crossed by the Grand Paris Express. It endeavours to involve cultural institutions and creative resources from the Île-de-France region.
The Metropolis of Greater Paris conducts proactive actions in the field of cultural development. It supports and participates in the financing of certain cultural actions related to the Grand Paris Express and in the perspective of the construction of the Metropolis of tomorrow.
Nature of projects
Proposed projects can:
- Belong to all fields of creation (visual arts or living arts): theatre, puppetry, circus, street arts, dance, music, readings, singing, performance, writing, photography, video, design, graphic design, visual arts, etc;
- Being very different in nature: workshops, demonstrations, initiations, performances, artistic installations, interactive works, immersive reality devices… ;
- Be in different stages of design or development: new projects or being written;
- Be of variable duration, presented only once or several times.
- Be free and open access;
- To be presented within the duration of the action programme
- Respect the theme of the call for projects (Vivants Voyageurs);
- Integrate environmental issues into project themes as well as into their management, production and dissemination
- Within the framework of the Cultural Olympiad project, to be a winner, the project must fit into the theme: art and sport;
- Encourage exchanges with different types of audiences (local residents, workers, collectives and associations, residents, schools, young people, etc.);
- Be feasible outdoors, in the public space near the Grand Paris Express route (parks and gardens, squares, squares, forecourt, courtyards, etc.) or within a partner institution (cultural place, public building, health facility, school, social centre, etc.);
- Have a link with the territories of the Grand Paris Express;
- To deploy on territories on the outskirts of Paris intramural.
- Associate a public or private partner belonging to the territories of Greater Paris.
Nomination regulations
Beneficiary project promoters
The beneficiaries of this call for projects are professionals: artists, artists' collectives, artistic and cultural teams:
- Organized in the form of an association or other form of legal person declared in the French territory, domiciled in Île-de-France (having, where applicable, a valid licence as a show entrepreneur);
- Special attention will be paid to the application of emerging artists, young artists (under 35 years) from all disciplines and to projects involving a local partner.
Support arrangements
The Société du Grand Paris, accompanied by the Métropole du Grand Paris, the Fonds de dotation du Grand Paris Express and the EPA Paris-Saclay, will provide for each project selected by the jury:
- Financial assistance in the form of a grant of up to €12,000 including tax per project, under our sponsorship agreement;
- A communication relay from the Société du Grand Paris and its partners and via the networks to give them visibility;
- The provision by the Société du Grand Paris of an identification kit in the public space including signs, light furniture and clothing equipment (vests, caps, etc.).
- The winning projects are supported in design and production, on behalf of and on behalf of the Société du Grand Paris, by the Classification: Public 104 Engineering – Centquatre-Paris. COAL, an association working for a cultural ecology, will advise all the winners for the implementation of eco-responsible practices and will also provide specific support in design and production to the "jury’s favorite" project.

Applications must be submitted in a paperless manner before 19 March 2023 at 12 noon on the website "Culture Nouveau Métro" or by email to the following address: culture@societedugrandparis.fr
The response to this call for projects must include 4 elements:

Selection criteria for project promoters
• The artistic quality of the project (requirement, innovation, diversity of forms, intersection of genres and aesthetics);
• The link with the Grand Paris Express project;
• The link to the theme (Living Travellers);
• The environmental impact of the project and the consideration of an environmentally responsible approach (energy efficiency, waste management, reduction of nuisances, etc.);
• Technical feasibility of the project (preferred light logistics)
• The relevance of the partner(s) and proposed venue(s);
• Collaboration with a local partner (from the socio-cultural field) to
promote the territorial anchorage of the project;
• The financial feasibility of the project and the coherence of the budget (remuneration of artists, technicians and authors, charges and taxes, production costs, etc.);
• Attention to territories and all types of audiences (city policy districts, integration, gender equality, intergenerationality, gender diversity);
• The link with the theme "art and sport" for projects in the Cultural Olympiad.
