The agglomeration of the Compiègne region and its partners are launching a call for applications, in the direction of artists of all fields of expression, for a residence-mission with the theme «Our French language: the art of words, words in art»
What is the principle behind this call for applications?
Driven by the desire to reduce inequalities in access to art and culture, theagglomeration of the Compiègne region sets an ambitious goal of generalizing arts and cultural education.
The partners are able to launch this offer knowing that they can rely on the collective strength and energy of the many local actors of arts and cultural education, whether they are professionals of culture, teachers, animators, educators, mediators, social workers, health professionals, etc.
It is therefore sought in view of a residence-mission that will be deployed in the territory of the agglomeration of the region of Compiègne an artist or collective of artists whose research and approach, naturally inscribed in the field of the contemporary creation, feed centrally from the wealth of the french language Language spoken or written, Language sung, Language games, Language and Music Alliance, Language and Visual Arts Alliance, Incarnate Language and Staging. This «French language» axis echoes a larger project of territory carried out in the influence of the creation of the Cité internationale de la langue française located in Villers-Cotterêts, 30 km from Compiègne.
The period of residence-mission is planned for a period of four full months, that is 17 weeks and a half of physical presence (90 days in total), at the rate of 5 to 6 days per week, spread over the period of September 18, 2023 to April 27, 2024 :
- 10-day immersion phase, September 18-27, 2023
- Meeting phase with all participating partners, November 6-10, 2023
- Residence-mission deployment: this 15-week phase, from January 15 to April 27, 2024

In case of pre-selection, candidates will be invited to present their project to the jury members on 19 June 2023, in person.
The context
These residencies-missions take place within the framework of the Local Contract of Arts Education (CLÉA) which brings together, on a multi-year basis, the various public authorities that carry this device. CLEA is aimed at children, teenagers and young adults, in training, students. e or practising their leisure activities in the territory of the Community.
