A public artistic commission was initiated for the project of sculptures intended to fit into niches of the façade of the Lycée Henri-Cornat de Valognes.
Originally a seminary-style educational institution built in the 17th century, the Lycée Henri-Cornat has three niches on its façade overlooking the main courtyard that have housed various sculptures over time. These niches are now empty.
The proposed work will have to fill gaps in the facade of the school overlooking the courtyard of honor, contribute to animate this facade whose appearance is a little dull, and, particularly visible from the rue Henri-Cornat, encourage the stop of pedestrians and enrich the heritage of the city of Valognes with a new center of interest.
