Through the implementation of a dedicated support fund, the Ministry of Culture mobilizes €1.3 million for the reception of Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals.
This initiative, with €1.3 million, includes different components: a emergency reception device, a support for artistic creation, support for students and targeted actions, particularly in favour of learning the French language.
The 4 components of the support fund of the Ministry of Culture for the reception of Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals:
-> A system of aemergency house
As part of the emergency reception system, a telephone reception platform, in languages ukrainian and russian, for the guidance of artists and cultural professionals was established, in partnership with l'Atelier des artistes en exil. A similar platform for journalists also exists and is managed by the Journalists' house. An emergency reception programme dedicated to artists and cultural professionals in partnership with the pause program and the Cité internationale des arts de Paris complements this system at national level.
-> A PrSupport for Artistic Creation
A support program for artistic creation will complement this emergency device. It will support projects to create and disseminate the works of Ukrainian artists.
-> Support for studentsants of Ukraine
In conjunction with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI), the Ministry of Culture accompanies schools that have shown up since the beginning of the conflict to welcome students from Ukraine.
Students benefiting from the temporary protection will be accepted at higher education institutions. Applications for admission must be sent to the national address ukraine@campusfrance.org. Once registered, they will be able to benefit from a Crous grant based on social criteria. The financial assistance provided by the Ministry will cover the costs of additional teaching costs, French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses, material requirements and, if necessary, an additional emergency grant for the first month of reception.
For the 2022 academic year, students must be urgently invited by their host institution to apply directly either at this institution or at the institutions offering the desired training. The platform set up by Campus France with the email contact: ukraine@campusfrance.org may also be used to bring to the attention of establishments applications that have arrived for the next academic year.
-> The French language as oIntegration and integration at work
The Ministry of Culture also wishes to contribute to the reception of Ukrainian refugees by launching an initiative around the French language as a tool for integration and professional integration. In this context, it brings together a working group bringing together its partners in French as a foreign language within the interdepartmental label FLE quality : Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, MESRI and France Education International, Ministry of the Interior, France Médias Monde - including RFI, TV5MONDE and FLE centres. It is a matter of rapidly offering a training offer in French beyond the great beginner level for Ukrainian refugees in order to facilitate the professional integration of this specific public.
