Le Fresnoy – Studio des arts contemporains is hosting its annual Panorama 22 – les sentinelles event in Tourcoing from October 15, 2020 to January 3, 2021.

More than fifty new works are exhibited in the fields of image, sound and digital creation. Panorama 22 is the annual meeting of creation at Fresnoy, it presents at the end of a year of exchange, experiences and research the creations imaged and realized by the young artists and visiting artists.

Alain Fleischer, director of Fresnoy - Studio National.

Panorama 22 is placed under the theme of sentinels, a word that designates several meanings, one of which allows to evoke the figure of the artist, today, for his part vigilance, clairvoyance, vigil, awakening. The sentry is at the vanguard, at the outpost. From dawn to night, it scans the horizon, it sits on the edge or on the other side of the body, of life, of death, it lights the other world, the other side of the border, the ultraworld. The works of Panorama 22 explore the relationship between the captured real and the waking dream, between the ground and the sky, between the observed world and the hallucinated vision, between darkness and light. They invent images of transit, reveal shadows and abysses, propose constellations and breaths. They’re standing right there in front of our wide-eyed faces.
