Support for networks and calls for projects
European networks have multiplied considerably in recent years and are essential tools for the sustainability of cooperation actions in the cultural fields.
Since 2010, there has been a renewed interest in heritage among the European institutions: the Council of Europe, the European Commission and the European Parliament recognize it as a strategic resource for the future, creating jobs, direct and indirect economic spin-offs, social well-being for European citizens and environmental qualities, making it possible to strengthen the attractiveness of territories in Europe.
The Ministry of Culture identifies and promotes new initiatives, leads or participates directly in several European projects and networks, supported by the European Union or the Council of Europe and encourages a process of multidisciplinary reflection. In the field of heritage, various networks or platforms exist, including the European heritage network (network HEREIN) which brings together the administrations in charge of heritage in 42 countries, the Think tank «European Union and Cultural Heritage», which brings together a wide range of European heritage actors (administrations, professionals, civil society and European institutions), the European Council on Archaeology (BEC), Sites & Cites Remarquables de France - Association des Villes et Pays d'art et d'histoire et des Sites patrimoniaux (ANVPAH), the Alliance of European Cities of Culture (WITH), the Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO), etc.
