Title : Weapons
Crossbow seems to have been the most commonly used, according to the number of bolts collected (approximately 50). Light, with a pyramidal or very long shape, they were equipped with a conical socket into which wooden staves were fixed.
Some bolts had a characteristic twisted head that made easier the fixing of a greased tow which would later be set on fire. Crossbow's arrow and rider's spear
Spear head A flat arrow proves that bows existed, although not very much used, and a few javelins' heads of different sizes certainly had a military use too.
So far, these weapons had been thought to be belonging to peasants wishing to protect their farm against some passing thief.
But the discovery of two winged spears, a nice weapon axe, several fragments of edges and sword heads, as well as a pommel prove the existence of a more developped military function.
