The Ministry of Culture, welcomes the success, in France and in Europe, of this event now unavoidable.
Once again this year, nearly 3,000 museums in France and Europe took part in the European Night of Museums and opened their doors for free to an ever more curious public. During a memorable evening, visitors were able to enjoy a different approach to museums, in the evening and through more than 3,000 animations, favouring a free and playful visit. Music, theatre, literature, gastronomy or cinema… , all the arts were brought together to allow the public to invest in the museum, appropriate it and express themselves there. Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, took part in the Nuit au Théâtre d'Arles with the Arlaten Museum.
A night where students present works
For the fifth consecutive year, the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture are proposing a device entitled La classe, l'œuvre! Intended to bring school audiences closer to museums. Throughout the year, students from kindergarten to high school, participating institutions study the work of a local museum. They then present the fruit of their work on the evening of the European Night of Museums, thus becoming, in turn, smugglers of culture. This year, nearly 330 museums took part in La classe, l'œuvre! In total, 430 projects were studied and presented by more than 700 classes involving 13,500 students.
A night on social networks
With favourites, tips, tips and photos, the European Night of Museums has intensified this year its invitation to share on social networks. Visitors become actors of the event by offering a special resonance.
The @NuitdesMusees Twitter account recorded over 10,862 tweets. Visitors visited the programs on nuitdesmusees.fr and echoed them on social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) with the hashtag #NDM.
Pick up the Night
The European Night of Museums has proposed this year in partnership with Art Graphique & Patrimoine a new game entitled "Décrochez la Nuit". After downloading the app for free (available on Androïd and Apple Store), the players discovered a work, emblematic and universal, in augmented reality and 3D, representing a celestial Coronelli Globe on display at the BNF. They were able to take pictures of themselves using the app and share it on social networks.
The list of the 150 participating museums was available on the website of the European Night of Museums, in the article dedicated to "Pick up the Night".
