The 44th edition of the Angoulême Festival took place from 26 to 29 January with success, testifying to the very high quality of the artistic production of the comic strip and the public interest in the 9th art.
Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication, congratulates Eric Lambé and Philippe de Pierpont who received the Golden Fauve for the best album for «Paysage après la bataille» as well as the other winners of the awards awarded during this edition.
The Minister welcomes the commitment of all stakeholders, public and professional, the Association of the International Comic Strip Festival (FIBD) and Society 9th art+, who worked together as part of the mediation initiated last spring.
This joint work must henceforth continue in a lasting way in the direction of dialogue, the general interest and the good will of all. This is the vocation of the Association for the Development of Comics in Angoulême, newly created by the public authorities and professionals concerned* in the aftermath of the mediation.
The objective of this new association will be to address strategic issues in a collegial manner in full respect of the festival’s editorial independence. It will hold its first General Assembly on 21 February 2017 and will appoint its President, a person qualified in accordance with the statutes.
