These meetings will explore several themes:
- a reminder of the foundations of this policy,
- assessment of its implementation,
- current issues and challenges within the framework,
- prospective use of the scheme.
They will be published in the second half of 2013.
To address all these themes, the meetings will take place over two days. The third day will be devoted to field visits in the safeguarded area of the city of Bordeaux (urban development, restoration operations, etc.).
This event calls on actors from different backgrounds: elected officials, administrations, witnesses or experts, professionals, associations. A steering committee, chaired by Yves Dauge, former senator, former chairman of the National Committee on Safeguarded Sectors, was set up to coordinate the national event, to define its programme and the organizational arrangements. The national association of cities and countries of art and history and cities with safeguarded and protected areas, the «André Malraux International Friendships», the High Committee of National Commemorations, and the city of Bordeaux, provide essential support for the design and implementation of these meetings.
