Decentralized aid for live entertainment
Aid for independent artistic teams
The Ministry of Culture promotes creation in the diversity of its forms and the plurality of its aesthetics. It aims to enable artists to develop their creative work and make it available to the widest possible audience throughout the country. Decentralized aid to the performing arts is the cornerstone of the Ministry of Culture’s policy in favour of artistic teams. Each year, more than 1,400 teams (theatre companies, dance, circus, street arts, musical ensembles, etc.) are accompanied by the Ministry of Culture.
This mechanism aims to accompany artists in the various stages of their career, while taking into account the articulation of the time for research, creation, dissemination and cultural action of their projects.
Two categories of aid
Intended to support the creation and dissemination to the public of live performances in the fields of dance, music, theatre, street arts and circus arts, the ADSV is divided into two financial grants: project assistance and contract financing.
- Project support is a one-time grant granted to support the production of a new creation or to enable the resumption or recreation of a show after a period of interruption.
- The agreement is a multi-year assistance whose challenge is to provide, in the long term, support adapted to the cycle of activity of the artist or artistic team. Lasting 2, 3 or 4 consecutive years, depending on the career of the artist and the degree of structuring and maturity of his artistic and cultural project, this aid is intended for the most innovative and confirmed teams in the artistic field and whose achievements have a national reputation.
