National Music Centre (CNM)
The Centre National de la Musique (CNM) is an operator of the State, that is to say, a body distinct from the State to which a mission of public service of the State is entrusted.
The NMC is a EPIC created by Law No. 2019-110 of 30 October 2019. In accordance with the terms of the law, it takes over the National Centre for Song, Variety and Jazz (CNV) with missions and expanded means. It has integrated the 1er November 2020 four associations of general interest:
- The Fonds pour la Création Musicale (FCM);
- The French Music Export Offices;
- Club Action des Labels et Disquaires Indépendants Français (CALIF);
- The Information and Research Centre for Contemporary Music (IRMA).
The objective of this establishment is to bring together the music industry and better respond to the challenges of cultural diversity, economic support, sector observation, territorial action and international development. According to this decompartmentalization logic, the NMC is conceived as a «common house of music» mobilizing the different partners and the different sectors of live performance and recorded music.
