Label «Fonds régional d'art contemporain»
The label «Fonds régional d'art contemporain» (FRAC) is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to structures promoting a collection of contemporary art. This label aims to allow art to be present in every region of France. FRAC-labelled institutions must thus build public collections of contemporary art and disseminate them to all audiences.

What is the label «Fonds régional d'art contemporain»?
Created in 1982, the Fonds régionaux d'art contemporain (FRAC) has been awarded a Ministry of Culture label since 2017. This designation was created on the basis of a State-Regions partnership.
The label secures the collections and dedicates the missions of FRAC in support of contemporary creation, transmission and mediation for the real access of all to contemporary art. The FRAC-labelled structures constitute a national reference network contributing to the acquisition and dissemination of works of art.
How is the «Fonds régional d'art contemporain» label awarded?
Institutions wishing to be labelled "Fonds régional d'art contemporain" must fulfil three missions:
- constitute a contemporary art heritage in the region, specialized or not in a particular category;
- disseminate the fund established in the regional territory through regular partnerships;
- to make all audiences aware of contemporary art by setting up permanent mediation actions.
