Contemporary art

The Ministry of Culture supports contemporary creations through a national network of contemporary art centres. These centres throughout France are both exhibition venues, awareness raising, of creations, experiments and artistic encounters.
Since their emergence in the 1970s, the contemporary art centres have become key places in the development of contemporary art in France. Each year, they welcome more than 1 million visitors to the exhibitions, meetings and workshops organized. Some of the artists featured in its contemporary art exhibitions are now in the public collections of FNAC, FRAC and other private collections.

State-Regional Partnership created in 1982 in a policy of decentralization, the FRAC - Regional Contemporary Art Fund - want to disseminate contemporary art throughout France, in all regions. The Stateand regions in support of artistic creation and contemporary art.
In order to help the contemporary artists and all initiatives related to discipline, the State, the regions through their Regional Directorates of Foreign Affairs, but also the national plastic arts centre provide grants, calls for projects and innovative operations.
