Spring of rurality

On January 22, 2024, Rachida DATI, Minister of Culture, launched the “Printemps de la ruralité”, a national consultation dedicated to cultural life in rural areas: “Today, 22 million French people live in rural areas. This is one third of our population, 88% of our municipalities. While many initiatives bring a cultural offering to life in these territories, our cultural model seems to have missed this major reality of our country. I wish it would change, and I give us two months for that.”

Book week

The Children’s Book Week is approaching its eighteenth edition in 2024. From 21 to 26 May 2024, the fair highlighted the richness and diversity of children’s literature through the presence of artists, booksellers, publishers, exhibitions, shows… For the young people involved in the project, this event closes, in a festive and exceptional way, several months of readings, reflections, productions. Will be declined a school component and an all-public component.

The South Vendée Littoral Youth Literature Programme aims to make people discover books and reading from another angle, open up reflection, create social links, bring people closer together and promote the development of the individual. The program represents for 120 classes of the territory a real artistic and cultural journey, including the 3 reception sessions in media library, the practice in workshop with the authors in residence (odd years), the visit on the show, the work of preparing the meetings of authors with their teachers, crowned finally by the meeting with the author.
