From Friday, September 20, 2024, the school public will be able to participate in the operation “Look up” in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Youth. Students will discover or rediscover the heritage of their region to learn about its history and specificities, awakening to the importance of its protection and valorization.
In Metropolitan France and the overseas territories, public and private owners of historic monuments, associations for the preservation and enhancement of heritage, restorers and conservators of heritage properties, Lecturer guides and architects will be present to welcome the public.
In 2023, “Look up!” On the Friday before the European Heritage Days, more than 2,500 activities were offered to the school public.
The Ministry of Culture and its partners are mobilizing to give everyone the opportunity to meet, share, learn and marvel together.
Pass Culture
In 2023, the Culture Pass opened for the European Heritage Days. The organizers of events offered quotas of places to book directly on the application, as well as privileged reception times. More than 900 tours were offered, including 80 experiences tailored for and with the Culture pass.
Coordination of European Heritage Days at national and regional level
The European Days are coordinated at national level by the Ministry of Culture and in each region by the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (DRAC).
An agenda, on which organizers are invited to register, and which is based on the digital platform Openagenda, informs the public of all events scheduled during the weekend.
Who can participate in the European Heritage Days?
- Your site/monument must be of historical, artistic and architectural interest;
- The visit of the place as well as the specific activities proposed (guided tour, exhibition, reading, etc.) should be free or offered at preferential rates, especially for children under 18, as well as for job seekers on presentation of valid proof.
It is also strongly recommended that:
- organize guided tours of the site/monument or provide a support for the visit;
- to set up one or more specific activities on the national theme of publishing.
