Regional archaeological day in Brittany: research news highlighted

The third Regional Archaeological Day (JAR) in Brittany is held this year on May 31 in Vannes. It is organized by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Regional Archaeological Service. The Day offers an overview of the operations recently carried out, from the Bronze Age to the medieval period, from the site of the Grand Launay to Châteaugiron (Ille-et-Vilaine) to Douarnenez (Finistère), via Caulnes (Côtes-d'Armor) or Vannes and Ploërmel (Morbihan).

After two first editions in Rennes, the Day of this year 2024 is organized in Valves at the Palais des arts et des congrès. By presenting a stopover point devoted to a dozen sites and sites of recent excavations, the Regional Archaeological Day illustrates the richness and diversity of archaeological research in Brittany. This day is aimed at professionals and students, but also enthusiasts. It precedes the European Archaeology Days, organized this year on June 14, 15 and 16, which open some excavation sites to the general public.
