Worthy successor of the "Festival Mettre en Scène" proposed from 1995 to 2011 by the Théâtre National de Bretagne in Rennes, the "Festival TNB", also programmed in November and created in its current form in 2017, plays with formats, disciplines and genres. It opens new dialogues with theatre, dance, cinema, visual arts and music. Conceived as a precipice of the season, this festival unfolds both on the stages and on the screens of the reception areas.
The war in Algeria, decolonization and its history as well as the aesthetics of fragility, singularity and creation adapted to people with disabilities are the double thread of the festival this year.
This new edition brings together more than twenty proposals presented in 11 locations in Rennes, its metropolis and Ille-et-Vilaine.
Supporting artistic creation, its practice, and its passing from one generation to another is at the heart of the missions of the TNB, National Drama Centre (CDN). It is embodied in particular by the presence,e festival edition, with 7 associated artists: Patricia Allia, Gisèle Vienne, Latifa Laâbissi, Xavier Veilhan, Madeleine Louarn, Valérie Mréjen and Vincent Macaigne.
