A national operation
Documentary Film Month is an event that brings together nearly 2,500 cultural, social and educational venues in France and around the world each November. Around 3,000 documentary films are screened in this context this year in November.
For this 24e edition, the theme is «Taking the floor», a promise of exchanges between the invited filmmakers and the faithful audiences of this travelling event.
Each participating structure imagines a thematic program, chooses the films and organizes its sessions, independently or based on the proposals ofLibrary images which coordinates the event nationally.
Particularly dynamic in Brittany
On the ground, in Brittany, libraries, media libraries, cinemas, associations, museums, cultural centers, prisons, hospitals, rural homes, schools, colleagues, high schools, universities... are mobilizing to organize screenings. This is an opportunity to discover a diversity of works through original and eclectic programs!
Documentary Film Month is coordinated by four associations:
• Cinecran for the Morbihan,
• Comptoir du Doc for the Ille-et-Vilaine,
• Daoulagad Breizh for Finistère,
• Ty Films for the Côtes-d'Armor.
They each have the vocation to pre-select the films they offer to broadcasters during viewing days, in order to gather the programming choices of each, to organize the Month of documentary film at their scale, to create a strong territorial network, to animate and develop it in each department of the Brittany region.
These associations are supported by the DRAC Bretagne in 2023 for various actions up to:
9 500€ for Cinécran,
12 000€ for Comptoir du Doc,
22 000€ for Daoulagad Breizh,
15,200€ for Ty Films.
