An inspiring festival
Livres dans la Boucle celebrates literature in all its diversity. 207 comic book illustrators, great writers of thrillers, recognized writers, emerging talents or passionate readers, these three days are an opportunity to bring together literature enthusiasts.
The festival promises an inspiring program for this new edition, crossing literature with the arts. Thus, literary works will mix with music, dance, theater or drawing. The authors will present their works through performances and new readings. A rich program, which will allow the public to live amazing and immersive experiences.
New this year: the festival will take place in Chamars. If this new location offers a bucolic setting for this essential event of the literary season, some meetings will take place at the Scénacle, La Comédie, the Conservatoire or the Cité des Arts.
Bernard Minier, Honorary Festival President
Renowned for his oppressive and disturbing works, Bernard Minier is one of the top 10 most read French authors in France. For this 9e The author will participate in a major interview during which he will present his latest novel The Erased.
Special attention to young people and the disabled
Love for books and reading can begin from an early age. Livres dans la Boucle gives young people the opportunity to take part in the game with two initiatives.
The price of the man standing
This prize celebrates Victor Hugo, a native of Besançon, who liked to write standing up in order to better express his convictions. This contest invites young people aged 12 to 15 to compose a text on the theme selected in 2024: justice and injustice. Once their form of expression has been chosen (poetry, slam, speeches, etc.), participants must put their text into a 2-minute video clip. They are guided by musician José Shungu. The winners will be rewarded on 21 September.
The youth prize
This year’s festival award gives children aged 8 to 11 the opportunity to become a member of the jury and choose the winner. Thus, 15 young people drawn will have the honour of choosing the winner. The winner of this prize will benefit from a collaboration with the Grand Besançon conservatory to create an artistic show around his work. It will then be presented at the next edition of the festival.
500 primary school students will also have the pleasure of exchanging with youth authors during visits organized in their schools.
Through this festival, the Greater Besançon wishes to make reading accessible to all, with a particular attention paid to the prevented and distant public. The media libraries of the Bisontine periphery will welcome a dozen writers to meet readers distant from this cultural wealth.
Livres dans la Boucle will also pass through the doors of hospitals and prison structures to make literature accessible to the disabled public. These meetings are done in collaboration with the library of the prison, and the CHU Jean-Minjoz.
Significant support from the DRAC
As in the previous year, the festival Livres dans la Boucle is supported by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It accompanies this festival in the context of mediation actions set up for the disabled, distant public, young people and 14 partner media libraries.
