This partnership, born of an interdepartmental will in 1999 (Ministries of Health and Culture), reaffirmed in 2010, encourages the development of cultural and artistic projects within care facilities for patients, caregivers and administrative staff.
It is a matter for each health facility to implement a cultural policy as part of their settlement project. The Ministry of Culture is committed to promoting access to culture for people who are far from it.
The objective is to foster encounters between the hospital/medico-social and artistic and cultural worlds, through projects to:
- On the one hand to reduce the isolation of the patient; to ensure that culture is a contribution to health policy; to promote respect for the rights of users;
- On the other hand, to give access to the greatest number to culture and art by integrating the presence of artists and works within health and medico-social institutions, and bringing those in charge to discover artistic worlds in a privileged way.
Within the framework of this Culture-Health Convention, the ARS and the DAC mobilize funds to finance these partnership projects.
The signature between Mr. Laurent LEGENDART, Director General of the ARS, and Ms. Sophie BIRAUD, Assistant to the Director of the DAC, took place on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
