21st edition of Rendez-vous aux jardins, from 31 May to 2 June 2024 on the theme: "The five senses in the garden"

Initiated by the Ministry of Culture, the next Rendez-vous aux jardins will be held on Friday, May 31 (a day dedicated to schools) on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 throughout France but also in twenty other European countries. Joyful and unifying, the theme of the five senses in the garden will invite the public to explore the richness of the polysensory palette proposed by the gardens.

The theme "The five senses of the garden"

The theme "The five senses in the garden" allows us to describe the polysensory experience of visiting a garden around the different senses that are awakened:

  •  The view solicited in the perception of spaces and colors for example,
  •  Hearing while listening to the different sounds of the garden (bird songs, animal calls, rustling water and plants…),
  •  The smell to appreciate the scents of flowers, aromatic plants or the smell of the earth,
  • The taste to capture the multiple flavors of fruits and vegetables grown there and finally
  • Touch to feel the materials and textures of different plants.

The visits to Reunion Island

Come visit the gardens of Reunion Island from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, 2024 : public and private gardens open their doors to share entertainment. A sensory walk in the west of the island will allow you to discover the most beautiful trees in the area and their environment. In the heights of the capital, a Creole garden highlights the stakes of biodiversity.
