A national mobilization
The Cultural Summer mobilizes many national structures. For this new edition, the Federation of Solidarity Actors (FAS) proposes about thirty projects through its Breathing Support Fund. This fund is intended to fight poverty by promoting access to cultural and scientific practices as tools for emancipation among people in great poverty.
For example, the young minors first-arrived of the association La Parenthèse in the Vaucluse participate, this summer, in a cross-course composed of several activities: shows, visits to exhibitions, workshops and introductory courses around the sports theme. This project, proposed in partnership by Cultures du Cœur and Les Petits Débrouillards, with the participation of the Municipal Archives and Fort Saint-André, combines sports and artistic practices through cultural and scientific mediation. The objective of this project is to aim for the social and cultural inclusion of young people around a dynamic and unifying theme: sport.
Similarly, the National Monuments Centre (CMN) allows the public welcomed by the partner associations of the field of solidarity to enjoy fun and collective days to discover sites that are part of their local heritage. Thus, the CMN collaborates with national associations such as Habitat and Humanism, the Secours Populaire Français or Cultures of the Heart, and promotes local partnerships between monuments and territorial offices of these partners. From the castle of Vincennes, to the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, to the castle of If, to the villa Cavrois, the national monuments will welcome many audiences during the summer.
Finally, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, theNational Union of Tourism and Outdoor Associations (UNAT) allows many families, in holiday centers, hostels or holiday camps, to discover different artistic and cultural practices. This summer, nearly one hundred projects are organized in about 94 establishments in 10 regions of France.
Local metropolitan initiatives...
Throughout France, the Cultural Summer radiates local initiatives. In Corsica, the Window on… proposed a prevention show on gender stereotypes for inmates of the Ajaccio Prison and the Casabianda-Aleria Detention Center, in coordination with the Corsican Penitentiary Service of Insertion and Probation.
In Brittany, every Thursday on the territory of the community of communes of the pointe du Raz, a dozen workshops led by engravers allow audiences far from the culture to discover the arts of engraving and traditional Breton know-how.
A show is also offered in the Hauts-de-France by the social landlord Habitat du Nord and the Cie Noutique, which travels in its caravan several priority neighbourhoods. «Les Imposteurs» is a shift with surprising mail deliveries by letter carriers.
…but also overseas
The overseas territories are not to be outdone. In Martinique, the association Lire pour sortir, in partnership with the Direction de la Protection judiciaire de la Jeunesse, offers young people from the minor ward of the Ducos prison centre as well as the Foyer du Robert, a mini-residence BD with the cartoonist Berthet One.
In Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, the Cultural Summer allows the organizers of the 5th festival Les Transboréales, a meeting place for French and Canadian artists, to offer free shows to young people and the public in prevented environments (hospital, penitentiary centre and long-term care unit).
