What is a label (or appellation) for live performance?
In the field of visual arts, the Ministry of Culture supports structures under two labels or designations:
- National choreographic centres
- National choreographic creation centres
- National drama centres
- National Centres for the Street and Public Arts
- National Music Creation Centres
- National Puppet Centres
- Opera houses in the region
- Regional national orchestras
- National circus hubs
- Scenes of national interest under the Convention
- Scenes of contemporary music
- Opera houses of national interest
- National stages
Their artistic and cultural project, whose director/ director is the guarantor (e), meets a list of missions and specifications, defined by an order of the Minister of Culture.
These private or public law structures are implementing this project with financial support from the Ministry of Culture and local authorities (municipalities, EPCI, departments, regions). This support is part of a multi-year agreement with the ministry of culture, and most often communities.
Objectives of the approach
The annual grant, paid under the multiannual agreement of objectives signed between the Ministry of Culture and the organisation holding the label (and, where appropriate, other public partners), contributes to the funding of the artistic and cultural project.
