The Caribbean Mobility Fund is a programme of the Ministry of Culture involving the General Secretariat, the Cultural Affairs Directorates of Guadeloupe, Martinique and the Directorate of Culture, Youth and Sports of Guyana. It is operated by the Institut français (Paris).
Objectives of the approach
The objective of the fund is to promote the mobility of artists and professionals of Caribbean culture, within the Caribbean area and to other countries (Brazil, Canada and the United States).
Am I concerned by this approach?
Artists, cultural professionals and cultural structures can apply.
The individual candidate must be from one of the French departments of America (DFA) or a country of the Association of Caribbean States (AEC) residing and working in the country for more than 5 years.
Cultural structures must have their registered office in one of the French departments of America or one of the countries of the association of Caribbean states.
As a reminder, the French departments of America (DFA) are: Guadeloupe, Guyana and Martinique.
The countries constituting the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) are: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela.
The French cultural network (French embassies, French institutes and Alliances françaises) abroad cannot apply directly to the Caribbean mobility fund.
The candidate or the cultural structure must present a project of creation or professional research on a subject or a theme of his choice, falling within the following disciplines: architecture, street arts, visual arts, comics, cinema, circus, storytelling, dance, debates on ideas, design, documentary, artistic training, training in cultural professions, video games, books, puppets, crafts, fashion, museum and heritage, classical and contemporary music, contemporary music and jazz, digital, intangible cultural heritage, photography, multidisciplinary, sport and culture, theatre, urbanism.
Mobility projects must have a link with Guadeloupe, Martinique or French Guiana.
Mobility must take place within the Caribbean area (AEC and DFA) and to Canada, the United States and Brazil.
Priority will be given to applications for mobility assistance for:
- participation in prescribing events,
- the formations,
- market development,
- participation of professionals in transnational networks,
- times of research and artistic collaboration,
- invitations to debates, conferences or seminars,
- creative residencies.
All costs associated with a mobility or mobility project are eligible (transport costs, insurance and visa if necessary).
The scheme is not combinable with the FEAC - fund for artistic and cultural exchanges for overseas.
Procedure
The fund provides financial support in the form of:
- a travel allowance (transport costs, insurance and visa if necessary) for artists and cultural professionals up to a maximum of €2,200 per application per year, corresponding to a mobility project.
- a mobility project aid for cultural structures up to a maximum of €8,000 per application per year (one application corresponding to one or more mobilities of artists over a year of up to €2,200).
Projects are evaluated according to the criteria presented above (cf. candidate evaluation criteria and project evaluation criterion) by a representative of the Institut français (Paris) and a representative of the Direction des affaires culturelles (DAC) Guadeloupe or the Cultural Affairs Directorate (DAC) of Martinique or the Culture, Youth and Sports Directorate (DCJS) of French Guiana.

No file may be filed or taken into account after this date.
Applications will be processed in the order of their receipt, a response will be made within 3 weeks to the candidate, the candidate or the cultural structure following the application.
Applications must be submitted online on platform of the French Institute. Applications must be sent at least 6 weeks before the start of the mobility.
