Raising awareness and developing audiences
Far from being a mere instrument of communication, the French language is above all a factor of cultural identity, social cohesion and solidarity between francophone communities. It is also an essential lever for access to knowledge and artistic expressions. All these characteristics motivate the general delegation of the French language and the languages of France (DGLFLF) to Encourage awareness-raising actions on language issues that aim to reach all audiences. The goal is to engage them and provide them with interactive tools they can take advantage of.
Objectives of the approach
By providing financial support, the DGLFLF is committed to encouraging structures at the heart of territories that allow the identification of young talents and the development of innovative projects. The purpose of this approach is to:
- To bring projects to bear on the French language and the most vulnerable audiences
- to contribute to developing a sense of belonging to the French-speaking community in France

The support comes as a financial lever at the start of the project. The renewal of the grant is conditional on the project’s impact and its balance sheet.
Particular attention is given to projects carried out by young talents, concerned with strengthening the appropriation of the language, including through humor, and thus to promote the self-esteem and self-confidence of speakers.
Innovation (digital projects), anchoring in the territory (links with the academic sector, social structures, elected officials) are among the eligibility criteria.
Projects from the territories conducted in a spirit of co-construction with the public are also encouraged.
Procedure
The amount of the grant is determined according to the nature and quality of the project and the expenses necessary for its realization. The grant is an incentive and must have a leverage effect that can allow to collect other supports.
The grants allocated by the DGLFLF are awarded on an annual basis, in a single payment, upon presentation of a detailed and costed project.
