The National Council for Higher Education and Artistic and Cultural Research (CNESERAC)
The National Council for Higher Education and Artistic and Cultural Research (CNESERAC) is a forum for dialogue, debate and representation of research institutions and structures under the Ministry of Culture. Placed with the Minister of Culture, it was created by the law of 7 July 2016 on freedom of creation, architecture and heritage (LCAP).
CNESERAC members - 2023-2028 mandate
The CNESERAC, place of exchange and sharing of 99 higher education schools and 45 research structures under the supervision of the Ministry, represents all disciplines (architecture – landscape; visual arts – design; cinema – audiovisual; heritage; performing arts). It is the only forum for the representation and consultation of all stakeholders in higher education and research under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture:
• 9 heads of schools and research structures and 3 qualified personalities;
• 17 teachers, 8 researchers and 8 students elected by their peers;
• 15 representatives of professional or trade union associations of culture, appointed by their organization;
• A deputy, a senator, a representative of the ARF, a representative of the AMF;
• A representative of the CNRS and a representative of the EESC.
The college of students, elected for two years, was renewed in 2021. In 2023, the entire CNESERAC is renewed, with members other than students having a 5-year term.

The permanent section of CNESERAC is designated, by colleges, within the deliberative members of CNESERAC plenary.
