Flight Procedures
The procedures to be followed in case of theft are defined by the Ministry of Culture according to which the property, national treasure within the meaning of the Heritage Code, is kept in an archives department, in a library, in a museum in France or classified or inscribed as a historical monument.
Any owner, assignee or depositary must refer to these procedures so that, once the status of the property is specified, the procedure for filing a complaint is made by the appropriate person, the owner or his representative authorized for this purpose, or in the case of deposits, the beneficiary of that deposit (depositary).
Compliance with this procedure makes it possible to take into account the victim of the theft and to enter into the databases of the Ministry of Culture and police and gendarmerie services of the documentation related to the stolen or degraded property, inalienable and imprescriptible within the meaning of French legislation.
