Ensure digital dissemination of collections
Enabling public knowledge, education and enjoyment is one of the missions of the museums of France (Article L410-1 of the Heritage Code). In recent years, digital tools have participated in this mission, as have temporary and permanent exhibitions and books. They also facilitate contact with audiences outside the world of museums and even culture.
Go to the public
No museum without collection, was it virtual. Because of their richness and variety, these collections are likely to interest a very large part of the population, national or international. However, a majority of people are unaware of these collections and will not visit the museum. Others will be prevented for various reasons (remoteness, disability, etc.). While we see phenomena of acculturation, going to these audiences is a necessity.
A wide range of tools
Digital offers a wide range of tools. These can be adapted to various uses: information, discovery, pedagogy, play, scientific approach, etc. The purpose of the product determines a greater or lesser technical complexity of production, but also of content preparation. It is desirable to know the possibilities, constraints and requirements related to digital broadcasting.
