Research in the art schools

In just a few years, research has become a specific field in art schools. It is today one of the most lively, productive, but also the most questioned and eminently strategic axes.

In order to reveal this landscape of research, multiple, diversified, in the process of structuring, the speech is given here to its actors: practitioners, artists, art historians, philosophers, sociologists, most often teachers in these schools, directors of institutions, researchers in art or other disciplines... Thus are gathered points of view sometimes convergent, sometimes contradictory, but always productive, and which can serve as a basis for reflection at a time when the General Directorate of Artistic Creation of the Ministry of Culture and Communication is adopting a new «research mission».

The artist Fabrice Hyber was invited to take charge of the visual dimension of the number. He embodies in his own way the singularity of a creative research, irreducible only to the regime of the written word.
