Francophone Initiatives
The current health crisis is affecting half of the world. All countries have been affected. In the face of this global crisis, many cultural initiatives have emerged. OPALE’s francophone partners have mobilized in their respective countries.
In order to pool resources and federate the Francophone community, a selection of initiatives is proposed to you by the network of French language policy and development organizations (OPALE) from Belgium (Wallonia Federation Brussels), from Quebec (Office québécois de la langue française), from Switzerland (Swiss delegation to the French language), of the OIF (International Organization of La Francophonie) and France (General Delegation to the French language and the languages of France). Virtual meetings, aloud readings, digital binder, resource platform, free audios, reference books...
French High School Week of the World
The fourth edition of the SLFM proposed by theAEFE The theme is “Citizens, equals and solidarity: French education to meet the challenges of tomorrow”, and will take place from 30 November to 5 December 2020. Participating in the Week of French High Schools of the World is – among other avenues of work in connection with school programs – highlighting education for citizenship and solidarity, equality between girls and boys, equality between all students in an inclusive spirit, sustainable development approaches, action by eco-delegates, etc. Institutions are encouraged to promote multimedia valorisation (texts, photos, videos, radio podcasts, etc.). International Day of French Teachers 2020, 26/11
Organized by the International Federation of French Teachers, supported by the Ministry of Culture (DGLFLF), the second edition of the JIPF will focus on "New links and new practices: projects for tomorrow" and will take place on November 26, 2020.
This initiative, called by the President of the Republic’s Plan for the French Language and Multilingualism, brings together French teachers and also those who teach in French in bilingual trainings around the world. This day aims to enhance the profession of French teacher through activities and events that will create solidarity between teachers.

Launch of the French-language vocabulary contest “Dicos d’Or Campus”
Intended for students from the 6th to the 2nd century to make them aware of the respect of spelling and the meaning of words, «Dicos d'Or Campus» is a vocabulary contest proposed by the Voltaire Foundation, Read Literary Magazine and supported by the General Delegation for the French Language and the Languages of France. New for this second edition: «Dicos d'Or Campus» is now open to all French-speaking institutions abroad! This contest encourages groups of students, supervised by French teachers, to master a corpus of 150 words. For this, students benefit from a teaching support and a personalized online training. This educational action allows your students to enrich their vocabulary, improve their spelling and engage in group work, so do not wait any longer and register your students in the contest!
