The emergence of new digital technologies implies a transformation of all creative professions in a complex context. It requires taking into account the speed of technological developments, and the uncertainties that weigh on the conditions of remuneration of authors, and the risk of capturing value by other actors. The Cultural and Creative Industries Strategy and the France 2030 In this respect, they are powerful tools to support the evolution of skills in this transformation.
Similarly, the Department participates in the DICRéAM (aid scheme for multimedia and digital artistic creation), founded in 2002 on the initiative of the CNC, and supports research and experimentation in hybrid art writing and contemporary uses of technology through the Chimeras.
Giving a view of the creative ecosystem in a digital environment
Referencing the actors and offers of creation in a digital environment should make it possible to value the diversity of cultural expressions and French productions. The action of the French Institute in this direction with the IfDigital platform discover the best of digital creation.
International exchanges and cooperation in innovative sectors and on topics related to culture in the digital environment contribute to the structuring of the ecosystem. Les Digital Crossroads Organized by the French Institute, they help to promote French digital creation, but also to foster the relationship between French and foreign professionals. The challenge is also to support the export of works and expertise in this sector, to develop co-productions and to open new markets for these industries.
The conservation of works produced in digital environments is also the subject of reflection and experimentation. Thus, the National Library of France advances digital legal deposit, which makes it possible to collect and preserve the growing share of digital objects in heritage production.
