National Choreographic Centres
As major players in the vitality and structuring of choreographic creation in France and its international reach, the National Choreographic Centres (CCN) are one of the labels of the Ministry of Culture.

To consolidate the choreographic life, the Ministry of Culture initiated in 1984, in consultation with local authorities, the creation of national choreographic centres , which have made it possible to set up choreographers in territories and to develop creative centres around them.
Representing a wide variety of languages and forms of dance, the 19 NCCs implement the creative activity of the artist or artists who direct it, and the dissemination of their works. They also accompany independent artists and companies as part of the studio reception or artists' associations.
Finally, the NCCs develop a policy on the transmission of choreographic culture and arts and cultural education and ensure a role as a resource for dance in their territory.
