Conserving and Restoring Cultural Heritage, Changing Practices and Trades, 8th Conservation and Restoration Professional Days, 2018
8th Professional Days of «conservation-restoration», organized by the Directorate General of Heritage in partnership with the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine and the National Heritage Institute, Paris, 29 and 30 March 2018.
The Directorate General of Heritage of the Ministry of Culture organizes, in partnership with the City of Architecture and Heritage and the National Institute of Heritage, the eighth professional days of conservation and restoration of cultural property.
In this European Year of Cultural Heritage, they are devoted to the exercise of the professions essential to conservation-restoration measures and actions: initial training, adaptation of training to the reality of the field, changes in practices, evolution of trades, skills required, place of trades in the process of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, challenges for the future…
After a historic introduction, the evolution of the business lines will be addressed through the transformation of practices, in particular with regard to new assets, the development of new skills and even new professions, changing the control and economics of conservation and restoration, the prospects and finally the evolution of training needs.
Round tables and case studies will allow about forty stakeholders to express themselves and present their experiences in all trades (restaurateurs, curators, architects, companies, engineers, stewards, etc.) and in all heritage fields (archives, libraries, museums, archaeology, historical monuments, etc.).
