
Any intervention on heritage entails risks for its understanding, preservation and transmission. For the owners and scientific managers of these properties, who have the duty to preserve them in order to pass them on to future generations, intervening in a cultural property is therefore a decisive choice. In France, interventions are subject to scientific and technical control by government departments in all areas covered by the heritage code.
