The year 2018 was marked by the implementation of the statutory and organisational reform of the 20 National Institutes of Architecture (ENSA).

The provisions of the law of 7 July 2016 on freedom of creation, architecture and heritage, profoundly transform the framework of higher education and research in the fields of architecture, heritage, landscape, of the city and the territories.

The reform of the status of teacher-researcher now analogous to that of the Grandes Écoles et Universités under the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Reaffirms the dual academic and professional roots of ENSA necessary to meet the professional, societal and environmental challenges related to the ecological and digital transition of territories.

It also reinforces the position of ENSA as territorial and national actors in public architecture and living environment policies.

 

The appointment for a new three-year term of ten directors of ENSA by-laws of November 28, 2018, marks the renewal of the confidence of the Ministry of Culture in:

- Philippe Bach, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Val de Seine;

- François Brouat, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Belleville;

- Christian Dautel, Director of the Nantes National School of Architecture;

- Alain Derey, Director of the National School of Architecture of Montpellier;

- Lorenzo Diez, Director of the National School of Architecture of Nancy;

- Nathalie Mezureux, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Lyon;

- Jacques Porte, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Saint-Étienne;

- Jean-Christophe Quinton, Director of the National School of Architecture of Versailles;

- Amina Sellali, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Est (Marne-la-Vallée);

- Marie Wozniak, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Grenoble.

 

In addition, the Minister of Culture has appointed, for a first term of three years, by orders of 21 December 2018, from 1er February 2019:

- Hélène Corset-Maillard, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Marseille;

- Raphaël Labrunye, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie;

- Caroline Lecourtois, Director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-La Villette;

- Simon Teyssou, Director of the Clermont-Ferrand National School of Architecture.

 

These directors and directors will lead the educational and scientific project of these institutions, will develop the academic and professional excellence, to benefit the influence of the territorial, national and international background of young graduates.
