The Technical Aide-Memoire for Conservation and Study Centre Projects is designed as a programming aid for all technical aspects relating to the conservation of movable archaeological property and archaeological documentation.
The Aide-Memoire is an upgrade to the 2010 Aide-Memoire on the implementation of long-term conservation of archaeological furniture and scientific documentation within a conservation and study centre. It is intended for those involved in archaeology concerned with the conservation of scientific data on archaeology and for teams of service providers responsible for implementing a conservation and study centre (CCE) project.
This document takes into account technical developments, new standards and new practices. It incorporates the terminological evolutions of the law of 7 July 2016 and its implementing measures, including the decree of 7 September 2022 defining the scientific data of archaeology and their conditions of good conservation.
It is structured in the form of fact sheets, classified by major themes, intended to accompany the clients, programmers and future users in the drafting of specifications for building construction or rehabilitation projects for the creation of a CEC. Each theme addresses the technical points for each stage of a project to avoid design and operational pitfalls.
The fact sheets of theme 4 on climate can also be used as part of already functional CEC or to set up climate-controlled spaces within archaeological repositories.
