Study days on 8 and 9 September 2022 at the Maison du Parc naturel régional du Luberon, Apt (Vaucluse)

Assessment and perspectives by Yves Cranga, curator of heritage, Françoise Cranga, historian

The cycle of days of reflection dedicated to the knowledge and heritage presentation of the gardens of Provence, had chosen this year the theme of archaeology. [Fig. 1] These meetings, orchestrated by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Manon Hansemann, Director of Heritage, Architecture and Protected Spaces, Jean-Baptiste Boulanger, Regional Curator of Historical Monuments) and the association Parcs et Jardins de Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Dominique Borgeaud, president), benefited from the scientific collaboration of Robert Jourdan, general curator of heritage (h). They wanted to highlight, through the succession of speakers and the choice of demonstration visits, the hopes and limits of a renewed and prospective science.
