Extraction shaft with a depth of 455 meters drilled in 1912 for the Société nouvelle des Charbonnages des Bouches-du-Rhône, and bearing the name of the engineer who carried out the excavation. The metal frame was built in 1917 by Derobert, but the shaft, accidentally drowned, was not put into service until 1922; it remained in operation until 1962. The engine building retains the extraction machine with its engine, reduction gearbox, winding drum, cockpit and various control and safety equipment.
Gréasque’s historic mining centre has been installed in the building since November 2000.
