The property, comprising a bastide and a garden, was bought by Viscount Charles de Noailles in 1923. The bastide as well as the nymphea and two fountains date back to the end of the 18th century. In 1947, Charles de Noailles commissioned architect-decorator Emilio Terry to renovate the south façade of the villa. In the same year, he began work on the garden, which lasted until his death in 1981. Without breaking the continuity with the surrounding landscape or with the plantation of olive trees remained intact, the composition is a garden of references, alluding to other types of gardens of various eras. Unlike many other gardens on the Côte d'Azur, the species comes mainly from temperate zones. The source of the property allows the arrangement of twenty fountains and ten basins. The sculptures are by Oscar Dominguez and Henri Laurens.
