Hotel-palace built for Henri Ruhl by architects Charles Dalmas, from Nice, and Marcellin Mayère, from Cannes. With 355 rooms or apartments, it was built from 1909 to 1910 and from 1912 to 1913. The facade is clad in a two-tone faux stone coating, with a moulded cement decoration. The hotel was partially converted into a hospital during the First World War, but continued to serve as a hotel during the Second World War. It has been linked to the world of cinema since the creation of the Cannes Film Festival in 1946.
