Pierre Guieu
Pierre Guieu was born on August 8, 1925 in Marseilles. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Marseilles, won the gold medal for higher studies in architecture. He became architect of the Reconstruction in Toulon. After 6 months and waiting for a transfer, he resigned and moved to Toulon in 1950.
He carried out many operations in Toulon and all the neighbouring municipalities, working both for the private sector and for social workers (Val des Rougières in Hyères). As a land architect, he mainly built housing and particularly large housing operations (towers at the ZUP de la Rode, Coupiane II in Valletta-du-Var, Gautier subdivision in Seyne-sur-Mer).
He nevertheless built a few public buildings such as the Lycée Bonaparte in Toulon, the church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Mer in Mar Vivo (La Seyne-sur-Mer).
His agency based in Toulon in the Claret district employs about fifteen employees. He stopped his agency in the 1985’s.
